Press Release: STRING BEANS AND CANDY CANES COMES TO REFLECTIONS Travel Through Time For An Evening With Debut Book by D’Norgia Taylor
First time author, D’Norgia Taylor, brings her debut novel, String Beans & Candy Canes, to Reflections Bookstore October 19, 2007 at 6PM. Kicking off a series of readings Taylor is giving across the Portland metropolitan area, Taylor engages audiences with select passages from her book as well as post-reading discussion. String Beans and Candy Canes is a science fiction marvel full of twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of his seat. Set in the twenty-fourth century, the story revolves around two life-long friends who travel through time weaving in and out of each other’s lives. Themes of friendship, love, and patience keep the flow of this novel and influence discussion among readers. Get to know Ms. Taylor and her fearless characters at this Friday night event. TAYLOR has been writing as long as she can remember but circumstances of life came between her and this particular passion. She relocated to Oregon in the late 70’s and has been a leader in her community for the past 28 years. While working and raising a family, Taylor immersed herself in many local organizations including the AIDS Coalition, The Bradley Angle House, and the Maya Angelo Writers’ Guild which resurged her love of reading and writing great stories. Twenty five years ago she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and although her life has had to adjust to physical restrictions, her spirit continues to push her aspirations including the release of this book. Editors Please Note: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2007 at 6PM This book reading is in conjunction with Reflections Bookstore where String Beans and Candy Canes will be available for purchase ($20).
